Thursday, September 28, 7-8PM, Café Talk: Pesticide-Free Schools for Healthy Kids: Interest meeting for Chatham County parents, students, teachers, and others who love healthy kids! Join Billie Karel from the Raleigh based non profit the Pesticide Education Project (www.pested.org) for this talk about pesticides and children's health in our public schools. Pesticides at school?? How, why? What are the risks? Are there good alternatives for schools? Are there laws about this? What can we do about it? We'll answer some of these questions and talk about what Chathamites can do locally to get pesticides out of schools, and what resources there are to help. We'll also talk about the rights of parents and school staff under the School Children's Health Act, a new NC law concerning pesticides and other environmental contaminants at school. No sign-up required.

Friday, September 29th, 5pm-7pm - Organic Wine and Beer tasting with Gary Williams including selected cheeses and artisan breads. Plan to come for dinner!
